Spoor

Read as \SPOHR\ and refers to the track or trail , especially that of a wild animal pursued as game.

Spoor derives from the Afrikaans word for trace. It is related to spurn.

There are occasions in a hunter's experience when a spoor provides a close clue in finding the hunted only to end up losing it.
